Remaining a leading global player in the future
Even while studying Mechanical Engineering at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, I came into contact with SEW-EURODRIVE again and again through various projects with its products. I was already fascinated by drive technology, and particularly by perfect interaction between the mechanical and electronic components to create a coordinated drive unit.
After successfully completing my degree in 2010, I gained my first experiences in the automotive supply industry before I decided to switch to SEW-EURODRIVE in 2012. At SEW-EURODRIVE, I had the opportunity to apply the professional experience I'd gained in the Mechanical Production department as a Plant Management assistant, and to develop it further.
I particularly like the responsibility and multifaceted, interesting tasks I'm given as an assistant. I work with all the production areas in the Graben plant, which gives me the opportunity to get to know a lot of departments and new technologies.
The region also offers a wide variety of opportunities outside of work. The short distances to the Black Forest, Heidelberg or Strasbourg make it very pleasant to live here.
My tasks include procuring high-tech CNC machining centers and production systems, optimizing production processes in accordance with SEW-EURODRIVE's value creation system, implementing a production management system and project controlling during planning of new production tasks. By working on various projects with different departments, such as the new bin concept for shaft production, I can have constructive conversations with colleagues to optimize existing processes and develop new solutions.
The contacts that I develop at our worldwide locations and internationally leading companies and institutions when conducting plant tours at the Graben-Neudorf location round out my work every day and make my position very multifaceted. My wide variety of tasks means that I come into contact with virtually all departments from Purchasing to Development, Controlling, IT and Sales, and get to know many nice colleagues while becoming more familiar with the structures and workflows within our company.
Another reason I decided to come to SEW-EURODRIVE was the wealth of opportunities for further training and development through various HR development programs such as the Young Potential Program (YPP) or the Key Talent Program (KTP), which particularly benefit young employees who could potentially become managers in the future.
The region also offers a very wide variety of opportunities outside of work. Other than my job, the short distances to the Black Forest or cities like Heidelberg, Freiburg or Strasbourg that are steeped in history make it very pleasant to live here.
To make a long story short, I can now say that I made the right decision and I'm very proud to work here. I see SEW-EURODRIVE as a lively, open and family-friendly company that will continue to be a global player in the field of drive technology in the future thanks to the drive of its employees and its bold willingness to change.
