Working internationally and across industries

After I earned my degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on automation, I started designing fully automated storage/retrieval systems for my first employer. In my daily work as a designer, I got to know and use drive technology from SEW-EURODRIVE. After a few years of professional experience in the field of storage systems, I was very interested in the idea of working in drive technology.

Now, ten years later, I can say that this was the right decision for me. You may work on larger projects and the "finished" system in plant construction, but being a component supplier allows you to work across industries so that you can broaden your knowledge and gain a variety of experiences. Drive technology is the central core of every machine and system.

Initially, I worked in Application Engineering at SEW-EURODRIVE for several years. I gained considerable experience at this interface between development, sales, and customers. The orientation program and the coordinated seminar modules, which built on it and taught me a sales-based approach and how to work with customers, were very helpful.

Now I'm a product manager for servo technology. This position allows me to further enhance my technical qualifications and consistently add strategic aspects to them.
I particularly enjoy the interaction with other people, as well as the interdepartmental working environment, the international field of activity, and the challenging and diverse tasks. To make a long story short, I work to ensure that SEW-EURODRIVE continues to provide the right products at the right time on the market in the future. That's an ambitious goal that motivates me just as much now as in the beginning, and gives me the feeling of working on something good for the future.
