Plenty of freedom for your own ideas
Since 2013, I've been a requirements engineer for customer solutions in SEW-EURODRIVE's IT. Before that, I worked for eight years at a larger company in the energy industry, where I was involved in a variety of IT projects. As a requirements engineer, I work on software development projects at the interface to the technical department.
To put it simply, my task is to record the technical requirements for the software, understand them and document them to create as complete and clear an overall picture as possible, which can then be used as the basis for creating the software. Because the software we develop covers virtually the entire product range at SEW-EURODRIVE, I work with colleagues from various departments in Sales and Innovation to analyze the special technical and sales aspects of new motors, gear units and electronic components, and their effects on the software. Due to the number and variety of topics, this work is very multifaceted and demanding.
The flexible working hours and comprehensive social benefits are just as cutting-edge as the modern workplace equipment, culture of open communication and short decision-making processes.

Being part of an effective software development team and supporting the process of creating new products and drive technologies from the concept to mass production make this job particularly fascinating.
It's very important to SEW-EURODRIVE to have qualified employees in all departments, which is why the company invests so much in their long-term development. The multi-week orientation program, which gave me detailed insight into the company and its products when I first started here, is just one example. What's more, I was able to work on my tasks and projects independently and with a lot of freedom from the beginning on. The straightforward, effective support of my colleagues is a major plus.
As a family business, SEW-EURODRIVE is more interested in long-term success and sustainable growth than maximizing its profits in the short term at the price of its substance. The clear result is that you really have the sense that the employees identify very strongly with "their" company in comparison to employees at other companies. Despite its appreciation for tradition, SEW-EURODRIVE is a modern employer: the flexible working hours and comprehensive social benefits are just as cutting-edge as the modern workplace equipment, culture of open communication, and short decision-making processes.
SEW-EURODRIVE lays the optimal foundation for people who want the opportunities for personal development that a market leader and global player can offer, but still want to be very close to the products, the market, and their company's success.
