Always ready to listen

My career path started with training as a communication electronics engineer in the aviation sector. After that, I worked for four years in the field of aircraft electronics. That was the first time I came into contact with the special requirements in terms of responsibility and a structured manner of working that are necessary for safety technology.

At the same time, I studied outside of work to become a certified electrical engineering technician. Afterwards, I started studying Information Technology with a focus on Engineering Informatics at the Cooperative State Universities of Mannheim and Stuttgart. I enjoyed the solid theoretical training and the emphasis on practical applications. When I finished my degree, I returned to safety technology. This time, I worked in software development for safety-related controllers. In this eight-year period, I gained experience not only in conventional software development, architecture, design and coding, but also in system engineering and testing. After that, I spent two years working in medical engineering.

At SEW-EURODRIVE I appreciate that my extensive experience is always taken on board. The working atmosphere is very open and friendly. I also really appreciate the strong support from my direct supervisor.

I've been in the expert group for Functional Safety in the Electronics Development department at SEW-EURODRIVE since November 2013. When I started, I immediately joined the core team for a new product in its preliminary development phase. That meant I was given challenging tasks and a lot of responsibility right away.

At SEW-EURODRIVE I appreciate that my extensive experience is always taken on board. The working atmosphere is very open and friendly. I also really appreciate the strong support from my direct supervisor, who always gives me interesting and challenging additional tasks, even outside of my actual area of responsibility. The heavy focus on appropriate, task-specific training for employees is another benefit. After just a quarter of a year, for example, I had the opportunity for further training to earn certification as a Functional Safety Engineer HW/SW (TÜV).

The application process was very professional. The in-depth discussions had an open, very friendly atmosphere. I got a very good impression of the company, which turned out to be entirely true.
