At the cutting-edge of technology
My name is Timo Bödefeld and I am 18 years old. I am completing my training as an IT specialist for system integration and am currently in my second year. I chose this profession because I wanted to learn about something technical and I enjoy working with new hardware in my spare time (PCs, smartphones, tablets, etc.).
SEW-EURODRIVE is an employer with a very good reputation and is known for outstanding training. I first joined SEW-EURODRIVE as part of a voluntary internship and immediately knew that it was the right employer for me. This is where I received my first insight into the exciting business life and interesting job profile of an IT specialist.
The first year of my internship was spent learning basic PC skills that you need as a system integrator. It also gave me a general insight into IT at SEW-EURODRIVE. I have since been assigned to different departments where I am finding out about the diversity of IT in the company. I work independently or in a team and complete projects that support the various groups and are productively used in the company. But I don't just work with hardware in the departments, I am also learning about programming.
I particularly appreciate that I received my own notebook for the entire training period, that I always have supervisors who are ready to help and that the training is logically organized.
I appreciate that I received my own notebook for the entire training period and that the company spared no expense for me. I often work together with my trainee colleagues, which helps to develop good team work skills that will help me out in later professional life when I tackle large projects with my colleagues.
I am completing a cooperative education program. This means that I am either at the company or at the vocational school, where I acquire important knowledge that I can apply in everyday life at the company. The best part is that you are always at the cutting-edge of technology and you can apply much of what you learn in the company at home and vice versa.
You should be interested in mathematics, English, physics and technology and be able to think logically. You also need to be able to work as part of a team.
I particularly appreciate that, at SEW-EURODRIVE, I always have supervisors who are ready to help and that the training is logically organized. We often also participate in training courses that help us develop and provide support in certain areas. The company provides a challenging and good training program and the opportunities for employment after the three-year period are extremely good. You constantly meet new friendly colleagues and it is a great working environment.
