  • Qualification: Bachelor of Science (BSc, 210 ECTS credits) + IT specialist for application development (German Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
  • Two qualifications by combining study with industrial training, high practical relevance thanks to practical phases at the company, regular monthly stipend, financial independence
  • Prerequisite: General university entrance qualification (Abitur)

These are the key areas you will study during the computer science program

  • Cooperative State University degree program (DHBW Karlsruhe) – computer science field of study: In addition to the core subjects, there will be a particular focus on expanding your knowledge of project management, web engineering, network and communications technology, and databases. In the local modules, the theoretical computer science content will be supplemented with compilers and associated tools. You will also explore specific practical computer science or consultancy topics in greater depth.
  • Cooperative State University degree program (DHBW Karlsruhe) – information technology field of study: Automation, control technology with programmable logic controllers, mechatronic systems, use of industrial bus systems and network technology, simulation of technical systems, introduction to mechanical engineering for IT specialists, robotics, use of robots in industrial facilities, real-time data processing, automation systems, power electronics, and electrical drive systems
  • StudiumPLUS (Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences): The core subjects are computer science, computer engineering, and mathematics. There are also many options to choose from, such as big data, machine learning, game programming, software engineering, and app programming.

The practical phase at SEW-EURODRIVE

  • Practical placements in research and development, as well as participating in future-oriented projects and topics, such as developing product-related software, digital twins, or robotics
  • Getting to know the IT department, with a focus on system and applications support, databases, and the security environment
  • Gaining insights into web technologies, such as in relation to the Internet, intranet, and e-business applications
  • Getting to grips with the Visual Studio .NET development tool, as well as communications technology, PLC technology, and client-server concepts
  • Increasing programming proficiency in C# and C++
