Details of your apprenticeship at SEW‑EURODRIVE

Creative minds will feel right at home here. The mechatronics technician training program teaches you how electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic components work and interact. You will put together all kinds of assemblies and components and perform the relevant adjustments. You will also learn how to start up, service, and maintain machines. In short, your training will be both challenging and extremely varied.

The practical part of your basic training predominantly takes place at our plant in Graben-Neudorf. Some of the technical training is provided in Bruchsal. A professional team of experienced trainers will give you regular feedback and will always be on hand to offer advice and support. You will also benefit from the state-of-the-art training center we are opening in Graben-Neudorf in fall 2025.

Alongside your practical training, you will be taught the relevant theory in the classes you attend and also in seminars about work methods, teamwork, and many other topics. You will attend the Heinrich-Hertz-Schule vocational school in Karlsruhe one week out of every three.

These are the options open to you after your apprenticeship

Your broad knowledge base as a mechatronics technician means you could go on to work in a number of different departments, including customer service and the maintenance department for our cutting-edge production systems. If you have big ideas for your future and want to continue developing your skills, you could also choose to undertake further training as a supervisor or specialist technician. You will already have the most important prerequisites – character, strong abilities, and excellent commitment.

This is the package we offer you

The stipend we pay you is clearly regulated, based on the collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry in North Württemberg / North Baden:

  • First year of training: EUR 1267.00
  • Second year of training: EUR 1337.50
  • Third year of training: EUR 1433.00
  • Fourth year of training: EUR 1513.50

Money isn't everything, though. You can look forward to numerous other benefits, including a 35-hour week, flextime days, special bonuses, a company pension, a travel allowance, a canteen, and much more besides!

What we are looking for

The entry requirement for our apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician is a mid-level diploma (Mittlere Reife) from a vocational high school (Werkrealschule, Realschule, or Fachschule).

Grades are not the sole factor we consider in our decisions about training positions – they are more a way of ensuring you get an interview. It is important that your personal capabilities suit both the training and us as a company. The qualities we look for include enjoying your work and the will to drive things forward. As a result, we are interested in the overall picture, especially your grades in mathematics, technology, and natural sciences.
