Details of your training at SEW‑EURODRIVE

We can teach you a great deal, including how to plan and implement the energy supply for machines and production equipment, and how these are started up, maintained, and serviced. We provide you with a broad knowledge base covering all electrical engineering processes to make sure you can quickly find and rectify failures and faults. You will also learn how individual components are put together to create complex assemblies.

The practical part of your basic training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering predominantly takes place at our plant in Graben-Neudorf. Some of the technical training is provided in Bruchsal. A professional team of experienced trainers will give you regular feedback and will always be on hand to offer advice and support. You will also benefit from the state-of-the-art training center we are opening in Graben-Neudorf in fall 2025.

Alongside your practical training, you will be taught the relevant theory in the classes you attend and also in seminars about work methods, teamwork, and many other topics. You will attend the Balthasar-Neumann-Schule 1 vocational school in Bruchsal two days a week.

These are the options open to you after your apprenticeship

After completing your training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering, you can work as a specialist in an area such as plant maintenance and further extend your comprehensive knowledge and skills. If you have big ideas for your future and want to continue developing your skills, you could also choose to undertake further training as a supervisor or specialist technician. You will already have the most important prerequisites – character, strong abilities, and excellent commitment.

This is the package we offer you

The stipend we pay you is clearly regulated, based on the collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry in North Württemberg / North Baden:

  • First year of training: EUR 1267.00
  • Second year of training: EUR 1337.50
  • Third year of training: EUR 1433.00
  • Fourth year of training: EUR 1513.50

Money isn't everything, though. You can look forward to numerous other benefits, including a 35-hour week, flextime days, special bonuses, a company pension, a travel allowance, a canteen, and much more besides!

What we are looking for

The entry requirement for our apprenticeship as an electronics technician for industrial engineering is a mid-level diploma (Mittlere Reife) from a vocational high school (Werkrealschule, Realschule, or Fachschule).

Grades are not the sole factor we consider in our decisions about training positions – they are more a way of ensuring you get an interview. It is important that your personal capabilities suit both the training and us as a company. The qualities we look for include enjoying your work and the will to drive things forward. As a result, we are interested in the overall picture, especially your grades in mathematics, technology, and natural sciences.
