Fun at work goes without saying
My name is Talhah Zubair and I am in the second year of my training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering. I have always been interested in technology and especially in electrical engineering. I am always fascinated when, after building, soldering or programming, the lamp turns on, the motor rotates or the circuit does what it is supposed to do.
SEW-EURODRIVE is a large and renowned company in my area. When I first started applying for positions, my aim was always to work for a major company. SEW-EURODRIVE is a great candidate as it is a global company that is also located near me. So when I reached the ninth grade I submitted my application to SEW-EURODRIVE as an electronics technician for industrial engineering and received a letter of confirmation. After obtaining my secondary school leaving certificate I started my training in September 2012.
As an electronics technician at SEW-EURODRIVE there is not really any such thing as a typical working day, as the job is extremely diverse and you are faced with new and different tasks and challenges every day.
I appreciate SEW-EURODRIVE's fairness towards its employees with regard to training, the workplace, working hours, pay and leave.
There are days on which you might construct a circuit for controlling motors or a PCB for testing a substance's conductivity under supervision and with the help of the instructor. But there are also days on which the instructor gives you a new project that you have to plan and implement independently. Sometimes you also have to supervise interns. The departments that you are assigned to in the second year of your training provide a whole range of new tasks, such as repairing a large machine or replacing broken components. Overall, the days are always extremely varied and diverse. I get on really well with my colleagues and I thoroughly enjoy working together as a team.
SEW-EURODRIVE is the market leader in drive technology and still a family-owned company, so it is not dependent on shares. The company also provides very good opportunities for permanent employment after the training program. I appreciate SEW-EURODRIVE's fairness towards its employees with regard to training, the workplace, working hours, pay and leave. For example, the extra shift system lets you collect more free shifts so that you can take more holidays every year than at other companies. They also pay their employees fairly and there are good opportunities for permanent employment.
Applicants must have an interest in technology as well as a corresponding technical understanding.
