Not sure about which career you want to focus on? Want to find out more about us before you apply? Our internships for high school students give you the chance to get involved. And learn a great deal.

We offer you different internships depending on your school type and in a wide range of areas. For high school students, we offer a BORS internship (career guidance for high school students) in the technical or IT/commercial departments, as well as a voluntary internship as a technical product designer. Grammar school students can undertake a BOGY internship (career guidance for grammar school students) with a view to an engineering or IT degree in the future. In addition, we also offer a voluntary internship as part of the BEO network. You can get an overview of all information below.

You can choose between a technical internship, a IT/commercial internship or an IT internship, depending on what suits you best. In addition, you can also complete a voluntary internship that gives you an insight into the work of the technical product designer.

Technical internship (BORS)

The technical internship provides you with an insight into the following jobs that require training: electronics technician for units and systems, electronics technician for industrial engineering, mechatronics technician and industrial mechanic.

What you can expect:

  • We will teach you the basics of metalworking and electrical installation technology.
  • You will manufacture a workpiece under supervision in our training center.
  • You will perform soldering exercises, try out electronic connections and set up pneumatic controls.
  • You will get a tour of selected production and logistics areas at SEW‑EURODRIVE in Graben-Neudorf and have a look at the modern working world.

Commercial/IT internship (BORS)

Commercial and IT professions have more and more interfaces within the context of digitalization.

Our combined BORS internship at SEW EURODRIVE is an opportunity for you to get a taste of the roles of industrial clerk, Commercial specialist for digitalisation management, IT specialist for system integration and IT specialist for application development.

By completing many practical tasks independently, you will gradually learn more about the fields of activity of the individual professions during your week as an intern.

What you can expect:

  • You will get an insight into a large industrial company.
  • The commercial side of the internship will introduce you to the areas of Procurement, Marketing, Sales and Financial Accounting.
  • You will become familiar with the operation and components of a computer.
  • You will gain initial insights into network technology.
  • You will make your first attempts at programming.
  • You will have the opportunity to ask any remaining questions in discussions with former trainees.
  • You will receive information about training and application opportunities at SEW EURODRIVE.

Career and study orientation at grammar school (BOGY)

You will learn a lot about your opportunities with us during your BOGY internship. In addition, you will obtain a valuable insight into the various engineering, business administration and computer science study programmes. You are therefore well equipped to make the right decision for you.

Entry requirement: Internship for high school students as part of career guidance for grammar school students (BOGY).

What you can expect:

  • You will get an insight into a large industrial company
  • We will provide you with information on the following study programs: industrial engineering, information management, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, business administration and accounting
  • We will present the StudiumPLUS and the Cooperative State University study program
  • You will programme simple computer games and an autonomous transport vehicle made out of Lego. You will familiarise yourself with business management topics through a business game. This allows you to try out the various dual study programmes.
  • Students of the different specializations will tell you more about their area of work and tasks.

Voluntary IT internship via the BEO network

Fascination IT professions

Are you thinking about whether an IT profession is right for you? Learn about the IT specialist apprenticeship and the associated specializations. You will gain insights into the versatile IT training at SEW-EURODRIVE and can solve your first practical tasks yourself.

Voluntary internship as a technical product designer (w/m/d)

Are you interested in the job of technical product designer? Then find out about the tasks and field of activity of a technical product designer over two afternoons.

What you can expect:

  • After an introduction to the job description of a technical product designer, we will teach you the basics of both design and drawing.
  • You will work in a group to create basic designs by hand, as well as 3D views and basic technical drawings. The results will be visualized and presented.
  • In addition, you will obtain an insight into the SolidWorks CAD system, which you can also try out with your own designs and drawings.

For the technical product designers, we conduct a voluntary technical internship.
