Independent work and a lot of fun

At the end of my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, I searched for a company for both my internship and final paper and came across an advertisement from SEW-EURODRIVE.

To begin with I completed a four month internship in the Research Technology department and following this I wrote my bachelor's thesis. Because I was dealing with a series of interrelated issues over the entire period, I was actually able to use the time in the internship to prepare my thesis. This meant I was able to focus my full attention on an automated guided vehicle system for standard sea freight containers for use in a container terminal designed by SEW-EURODRIVE. My work here included many different activities from research, via concept development, through to the design of a function model.

I really enjoyed working independently on my own project. During my time at SEW-EURODRIVE, I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge from my studies and learned a lot of new things.

I really enjoyed working independently on my own project. During my time at SEW-EURODRIVE, I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge from my studies and learned a lot of new things. My supervisor supported me in my work through regular discussions and I was always able to turn to employees in the department with questions. The young and committed team containing many students provided a pleasant working atmosphere with a lot of scope for discussion and exchange of ideas.

Alongside the work, the student get-togethers, activities and soft skills seminars offer something different as well as the opportunity to get to know students from other departments.

Following the bachelor's degree, I started a master's degree at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. I already know some of my fellow students from working at SEW-EURODRIVE, which meant starting at the new university was relatively easy for me. Alongside the master's degree, I shall continue to work as a student trainee for SEW-EURODRIVE.

I am able to warmly recommend SEW-EURODRIVE to other students as an industrial partner for a final paper.
