Description

Distance that is used to calculate the limit position up to which the drive can travel.

The limit position is calculated based on the Effective direction of the safety sub-function:

  • Upper limit position = actual position + increment
  • Lower limit position = actual position - increment

The point when the limit position is calculated depends on the Stop state to which the drive is set upon activation of the safety sub-function:

  • If the drive is set to the stop state STO or SOS upon activation of the safety sub-function, the limit positions are calculated only once the increment enable is active.
  • If the drive is not set to the stop state following activation of the safety sub-function, the increment enable has no function and the limit positions are calculated immediately.

If the increment enable is activated again during the increment, the limit position is recalculated as of this position.

The current braking distance is calculated with the defined Deceleration a1 and the actual speed. The sum of the actual position and the current braking distance must be before the limit position. If the limit position is exceeded, the STO safety sub-function is activated immediately as an error response. The brake application time is not taken into account. If a limit violation occurs before STO is deactivated, the increment enable or the safety sub-function must be deactivated first. Otherwise the limit violation will be reported again.
