Description

The SDI safety sub-function monitors the direction of movement of the drive. If the drive travels in the blocked direction of movement, the STO safety sub-function is activated immediately as an error response. The brake application time is not taken into account.

The SLI safety sub-function prevents a movement from exceeding a specified increment. If the increment is exceeded, the STO safety sub-function is activated immediately as an error response. The brake application time is not taken into account.

The safety sub-functions can be activated as follows:

  • Via a safe digital input F‑DI
  • Via the safe process data of the higher-level safety controller
  • The SDI safety sub-function can also be activated permanently via the Permanently activated parameter

INFORMATION

If 3 encoders are evaluated with the MOVISAFE® CSA31A safety option and the safety protocol FSoE or CIP Safety™ is used for the safe communication, 3 of the 4 possible instances of the 2 safety sub-functions SDI and SLI can be parameterized.
