Description
With these safety sub-functions, the speed is monitored safely.
- The SLS safety sub-function monitors the actual speed to make sure that the defined limit speed is not exceeded. If the limit speed is exceeded, the specified error response is triggered.
- The SSM safety sub-function monitors the actual speed to make sure that the defined limit speed is not exceeded. When the limit speed is exceeded, the status of the safe process data changes. An additional warning is not signaled and an error response is not performed.
- The SSR safety sub-function monitors the actual speed value within the parameterized speed range. If the value is outside the speed range, the specified error response is triggered and the status of the safe process data changes.
The SLS and SSR safety sub-functions can be activated as follows:
- Via a safe digital input F‑DI
- Via the safe process data of the higher-level safety controller
- Permanently via the Permanently activated parameter
The SSM safety sub-function is activated by specifying a limit speed.
INFORMATION

If 3 encoders are evaluated with the MOVISAFE® CSA31A safety option and the safety protocol FSoE or CIP Safety™ is used for the safe communication, 4 of the 8 possible instances of the 2 safety sub-functions SLS and SSM can be parameterized.
