STO/SBC
- Menu: 4.9.21
Description
If the STO safety sub-function is activated, the inverter no longer supplies power to the motor. As a result, the drive cannot generate any torque. This safety sub-function corresponds to a non-controlled stop according to EN 60204‑1, stop category 0. The motor coasts to a standstill or is stopped mechanically. If possible, however, you should preferably select the controlled stopping of the motor.
The STO safety sub-function can be activated as follows:
- Via a safe digital input F‑DI
- Via the safe process data of the higher-level safety controller
The brake is controlled with the SBC safety sub-function.
