Description
The parameter is only displayed if the following conditions are met:
- The encoder parameters are adopted from the drive train configuration.
- The encoder is a PXV100A encoder or PXV90AS encoder.
The safety option has implemented 2 error counters that read a color code. If one of the two error counters exceeds the configured threshold value, the safe position of the PXV encoder is declared invalid and error E-14.66 Encoder: No position code visible is triggered.
If no error was detected for the time of 5 color changes, both counters are reset to 0.
SEW‑EURODRIVE recommends that you do not change the default value.

The number of tolerated faults has an effect on the response time and must be taken into account in the safety analysis and response time calculation.
