Use synchronization signal
- Menu: 4.2.1-2.1-1
- Index: 8366.5
Description
Specifies whether the synchronization signal of the higher-level controller is to be used. The synchronization signal allows for precise synchronization between the stations of the following bus networks:
- EtherCAT®/SBusPLUS
- PROFINET with IRT communication (Isochronous Real Time)
- POWERLINK
Synchronization information is only transferred when the bus is connected directly.
Whether a synchronization signal is useful or not depends on the specific application. In applications where servo drives travel along geometrical paths, for example, using a synchronization signal is the basic requirement for simultaneous interrelated movements of the axes.
Synchronized process data exchange must be performed in the following interpolating drive functions:
- FCB 06 Interpolated speed control
- FCB 08 Interpolated torque control
- FCB 10 Interpolated position control
The following settings are possible:
Setting | Meaning |
---|---|
1 (yes) | Process data is applied in a synchronous manner. |
0 (no) | The synchronization signal is not evaluated. |
DefaultSetting
1 (yes)
