With more than 450,000 square meters of hall space, 24 halls and pavilions and 58,000 square meters of open-air space, it is one of the largest exhibition centers in the world.

Traveling to HANNOVER MESSE by air

Hannover-Langenhagen airport is the largest airport in Niedersachsen and is serviced by a large number of airlines. Lufthansa provide special discounted fares for travel as part of HANNOVER MESSE. For more information, see the HANNOVER MESSE website.

It is easy to reach the trade fair in Hanover from Hanover airport using local transport. To reach the fair, take tram line 5 to the main train station and then take tram line 8 or 18 to the "Messe/Nord" stop. You reach the "Nord 1" and "Nord 2" entrances from there.

There is also a shuttle service from the airport provided by B.F.M. Incoming & Traveller Services GmbH. This service brings you from airport terminal C to the "West 1" entrance at the exhibition center. The service is subject to a fee.

At the exhibition center, a large number of parking spaces are available. The parking fee is 11 euros. You can find more information on the "Gesellschaft für Verkehrsförderung" (GfV) website.

A "park & charge" service will also be available for drivers of electric vehicles during HANNOVER MESSE this year. In car park 4 (approach via Nordallee, "Nord 1" entrance), you can find special "park & charge" spaces where you can charge your vehicle during your visit to the trade fair. The parking fee is 21 euros including charging fees.

Traveling to HANNOVER MESSE by train

HANNOVER MESSE is easy to reach by train. Hanover is well connected to the Deutsche Bahn long-distance and regional rail network.

Please note that your HANNOVER MESSE ticket (HANNOVER MESSE fair tickets) is not valid as a travel ticket for your trip to HANNOVER MESSE.

Please use the "MESSE card" instead, which is available separately. This card is valid throughout the whole trade fair period, starting from the day before it. You can purchase this card for a price of 27.20 euros from Greater Hanover Area Public Transport Area (GHV) service and sales outlets, ticket machines, bus drivers, on the website of the GHV and from the GHV app .


From Hanover Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) directly to the trade fair entrances:

  • use U-Bahn lines 8 or 18 and
  • exit at the "Messe/Nord" station.
  • You can access the "Nord 1" and "Nord 2" fair entrances from there.
  • Travel time is around 18 minutes.

From Hanover Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to the trade fair train station:

  • The exhibition center has its own station, the "Hannover Messe/Laatzen" stop.
  • The station is serviced regularly by the S4 and S8 S-Bahn lines.
  • In addition, Deutsche Bahn arranges special stops at the trade fair train station for ICE, IC and regional trains during HANNOVER MESSE.
  • The private rail companies metronom and erixx also provide extra stops at the trade fair train station during the fair.
  • The station is around 400 meters from the "West 1" fair entrance.
  • You reach this entrance in roughly 10 minutes via the covered skywalk.

Mit der Stadtbahn:

  • Die Stadtbahnlinien 6 und 16 verkehren zwischen „Kröpcke“ und der Haltestelle „Hannover Messe/Ost“.
