We all know adapters, be it USB, HDMI or socket adapters for electronic devices, but there are also adapters for mechanical devices. You are probably familiar with bit attachments for cordless screwdrivers or ratchet sockets. Adapters are a real blessing when it comes to using a device with a standardized interface in a variety of ways - even if you have an entire drawer full of them at home.

There are also adapters in drive technology. Typically, these are used when gear units and motors from different manufacturers are to be combined to form a drive solution or when standardized IEC or NEMA motors are used.
