Description
To multiply the contacts and the power, a safety-relevant contactor with positively-driven auxiliary contacts can be connected externally, which is controlled via a safe digital output F‑DO. The EDM function (external device monitoring) monitors the feedback circuit of the contactor. It checks whether the auxiliary contact changes the switching status in accordance with its defined parameter settings.
If the external contact monitoring EDM detects an impermissible switching state, the safe digital output is switched off and the specified error response is carried out.
The parameter setting is specified in the Assist CS.. tool. In MOVISUITE®, the specified setting is only displayed. This description refers to the Assist CS.. tool.
The following parameters are set:
Parameter | Meaning |
---|---|
Enable | Defines whether the EDM function is used. |
Auxiliary contact type | Defines whether the auxiliary contact is an NC contact or an NO contact. The switching status of the auxiliary contact is read in via a safe digital input F‑DI. |
Pick-up time t2 | Time period required for the contactor to switch on. The auxiliary contact must change its state within this time. |
Fall time t3 | Time period required for the contactor to switch off. The auxiliary contact must change its state within this time. |
Defines the response that is triggered if the auxiliary contact does not change its state within the set time period (t2, t3). |
