Description
Counting direction of the encoder. The parameter is based on the installation position of the encoder and supports encoders that are mounted opposite to the standard installation.
The sign of the process values in the inverter is defined by the Direction of rotation reversal and Counting direction parameters in the configuration of the drive train. The Direction of rotation reversal parameter is not applied to the MOVISAFE® CSS..A safety option. However, to ensure that the process values in the safety option have the same sign as the process values in the inverter, the counting direction in the safety option must be set as follows depending on the settings of the two parameters in the inverter:

The following settings are possible:
Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
Normal | The encoder rotates in the same direction of rotation as the motor. The encoder provides a positive increasing position for a clockwise rotating motor shaft (direction of rotation looking at the motor shaft from the front). |
Inverted | The encoder rotates in the opposite direction of rotation as the motor. The encoder provides a negative decreasing position for a clockwise rotating motor shaft (direction of rotation looking at the motor shaft from the front). |
