Description
If the cam switch obtains its actual position via a process output data word or via an external encoder, the actual position is always more advanced than the transmitted actual value. To compensate for this, a dead time compensation can be specified for the input variables of the cam switch. The actual position is not compared with the current value of the source but with the value linearly predicted or calculated back by the dead time.
If the measured actual values are noisy, incorrect linear values could be calculated for dead time compensation. A time window can be specified to smoothen the actual values. This time specifies the age of the predecessor value for linear extrapolation.
