Our ECDriveS® is a BLDC drive in 24 V or 48 V versions with up to 65 W continuous power and up to 150 W dynamic power that is optimized for the typical power ranges of roller conveyors used in light-duty materials handling technology. ECDriveS® units are remarkable for not only their ease of use—just connect them and you’re done—but also their adaptability. They are extremely easy to integrate and start up, and once operational they exhibit excellent durability and long service lives.

The ECDriveS® drive system rounds out our broad product portfolio of standard gearmotors, motor starters and decentralized drives for intralogistics in the low power range.

The drive is directly integrated into a conveyor roller or can also be used as a universal gearmotor. The design offers maximum reliability, outstanding torque and smooth and quiet operation, even in the most demanding applications.

Which versions of the motor roller are available?

The motor roller is available in two versions – with integrated or external commutation electronics, as the ECR-I or ECR-A motor roller.

  • ECR-I: with integrated commutation electronics, analog 0–10 V control
  • ECR-A: with external commutation electronics and digital motor interface for Ethernet-based zone control

The ECR-A motor roller is controlled via remote commutation electronics and digital motor interface with Ethernet-based zone control. The ECC-DFC fieldbus controller is characterized by integrated conveying logic, which can solve a variety of other conveying tasks decentrally in addition to zero backpressure conveying.

The ECR-I motor rollers use the analogue 0 - 10 V standard and are designed to be compatible with many third-party motor controllers.

  • Our ECDriveS® units are drives with up to 65 W continuous power and more than 200% overload capacity. They combine a sturdy planetary gear unit and an efficient permanent magnet motor (BLDC). The bearing of the planet gears on both sides in the gear unit ensures high rigidity and optimal tooth engagement as well as minimal wear, even with high loads.
  • The integrated encoder allows for precise speed control, and controlled brake ramps let you position the material precisely and independent of the load.
  • Motor protection is realised via a thermistor, meaning that you always know the current motor temperature.
  • ECR-A motor roller and ECG-A gearmotor with external commutation electronics
    • Available in 24 V or 48 V versions
    • An electronic nameplate enables automatic startup of the drives. As fast and easy as no other system. The motor control can be implemented via PROFINET IO, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP or EtherCAT or binary. I/O modules supplement the drive system
    • The high overload capacity and thermal reserves enable maximum cycle rates
    • Optional with integrated holding brake at 24 V.
