Application: M100 EVO thermoforming machine for the production of cups, trays, and packaging

Higher power rating, approximately 40% lower energy consumption in the drive system, and a significantly leaner electrical infrastructure: With the M100 EVO, GABLER Thermoform successfully combines high power rating and energy efficiency in thermoforming technology.

  • Maximum machine performance for the production of cups, trays, and packaging
  • Reduction in energy consumption in the drive system
  • Significant reduction in input end connected load
  • More compact control cabinet architecture
  • Reduced cabling effort
  • Switch to MOVI-C®
  • Future-proof automation platform for further machine developments

The development of the M100 into the M100 EVO was not solely about increasing output. The objective was to design the machine to be more powerful, more energy-efficient, and with a leaner infrastructure.

  • Automation of the entire machine with MOVI-C®
  • Use of MOVIDRIVE® modular in combination with Power and Energy Solutions and MOVITRAC® advanced
  • Use of MOVIKIT® software modules for rapid machine startup
  • New energy and drive concept as part of the evolution from the M100 to the M100 EVO

This reduces the load on the electrical infrastructure, minimizes load peaks, and enables a significantly more compact design of the drive technology.

  • Future-proof machine architecture based on the MOVI-C® modular automation system MOVI-C®
  • Full machine performance while reducing the input end connected load from 140 kW to 25 kW
  • High output with more than 250,000 cups per hour
  • Efficient energy management: approximately 40% lower energy consumption in the drive system through intelligent use and buffering of energy
  • High peak power: Four MDC92 energy storage modules provide power rating as needed during the machine process.
  • Smaller footprint in the control cabinet: 70% less space required in the control cabinet; 1 control cabinet instead of 3
  • Minimized installation effort due to a reduction in the cable cross section of the supply system cable from 70 mm² to 10 mm²
  • Significantly reduced cabling effort, resulting in less material, lower complexity, and simpler machine design
  • Reduced acquisition costs: Drastic reduction in costs for control cabinet inverters with MOVI-C®
  • Consistent engineering with standardized automation and drive technology for the planning, implementation, and further development of the machine.

The result: higher power rating, a leaner infrastructure, and lower costs.

During the development of the M100 EVO, our customers’ requirements were the focus: more speed, more efficiency, and more power. Together with SEW-EURODRIVE, we achieved these objectives and created one of the most powerful thermoforming machines in its class.
Silviu-Gabriel Madsen, Regional Sales Manager, GABLER Thermoforming
Together with SEW-EURODRIVE, we were able to take the M-Line to a new level: 25% more punching force, 40% lower energy consumption, and a control cabinet design reduced by two-thirds. At the same time, we benefit from significantly less wiring work and lower costs.
Steffen Lüking, Electrical Design / Development, GABLER Thermoform
With Power and Energy Solutions and MOVI-C®, we were able to reduce the machine’s connected load from 140 kW to 25 kW and cut energy consumption by 40% while increasing production output. This results in a sustainable solution that also makes economic sense.
