Despite the hot weather, many SEW-EURODRIVE employees enthusiastically took up the challenge. It was still almost 36° C when the runners lined up at the start at 6:30 p.m.
Over 8,000 joggers and Nordic walkers came together in Karlsruhe for B2RUN, one of the city's largest active sports events. As with all the other company teams, the primary focus for the SEW-EURODRIVE runners was on working together with colleagues and having fun. After a few more quick stretches, the event got underway at around 6:30 p.m. on the picturesque route, which also took in the castle gardens.
Cheered on as they entered the Wildpark stadium, all the company teams taking part experienced the thrill of a marathon.
All the participants in this extraordinary sports event – whether a hardcore runner or novice, manager or trainee – felt like a winner here. The results for the SEW-EURODRIVE teams are impressive.
The best placings were high in the rankings:
- Best 5-person team, female – 17th out of 353 teams
- Best 5-person team, male – 20th out of 685 teams
- Best 5-person team, mixed – 15th out of 753 teams
- Individual ranking: Best female starter – Sabrina Elwert / 16st out of 2436 runners
- Individual ranking: Best male starter – Gordon Lindermann / 70rd out of 2500 runners
This year's B2RUN in Karlsruhe offered a further special highlight – a draw for 8 x 2 tickets for the European Soccer Championship. And to our great surprise one of our runners won one of the highly coveted sets of tickets. He and a companion can now look forward to attending one of the German team's group games.
Congratulations to all our runners for their fantastic sporting achievements!
Participation in the B2RUN company run is just one of many activities in our occupational health management program. SEW-EURODRIVE doesn't just get things moving with its product portfolio. True to the "health wins every time" motto, importance is also attached to keeping employees fit and active. The focus is less on elite sport and more on healthy exercise. What counts is taking part and having fun, strengthening the sense of togetherness and creating incentives for each individual to develop a healthier lifestyle.
To achieve this, all employees have access to a comprehensive package of offerings. These range from a variety of health seminars, regular Vital activities, annual health days, "Sport at work" and partnerships with fitness studios to participation in events such as mini-soccer tournaments, the Hope Run and, of course, the B2RUN company run.
