In a call and wide-ranging surveys conducted in print, online and face-to-face channels (visitor surveys at renowned trade fairs), students and graduates of the relevant disciplines were asked to suggest those employers who, in their opinion, show exemplary commitment to the issue and put particular effort into encouraging and supporting new STEM staff.
The nominated employers come purely from the suggestions of the STEM talents from across the country - all of them students or graduates of universities throughout Germany. It is therefore all the more satisfying that so many suggested SEW EURODRIVE.
According to current surveys, there is still a shortage of around 200,000 workers in this field in Germany alone. This is a shortage of skilled workers that can have a negative impact on the innovative strength of every company affected. But Germany itself is also suffering in terms of its reputation as a global business location.
To counteract this, "MINT Zukunft schaffen" (Creating a STEM Future) was founded in 2008 under the patronage of German Chancellor Angela Merkel - an association of German employers based in Berlin. And since 2012, audimax MEDIEN and the "MINT Minded Company" initiative together with the "MINT Zukunft schaffen" association have been honoring those companies that provide appropriate support for their young technical and scientific talent from the very beginning.
For us at SEW-EURODRIVE, it is now the fourth time in a row since 2018 that we have received this coveted nomination and certification.
