"Helpfulness and humanity are the DNA of volunteering. And the hallmark of civil protection is volunteering. Without the employers who actively support this, civil protection in our country would simply not be possible in the existing forms", said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl on Saturday (10 October 2020) in Bruchsal.

During a ceremony, Thomas Strobl honored several companies for their positive attitude towards volunteer work and the support of their employees in fulfilling these positions.

Our head of quality management, Mr. Jörg Jahn, accepted the award on our behalf.

"One of our values at SEW-EURODRIVE, which the company founder gave us, is 'People make the difference'. And we live this every day at the company. The knowledge, the ability and the will of the employees is an important basis for the company's success. And if the will of the employees extends beyond the operational concerns to honorary activities, we do not want to stand in the way of this commitment in any way. And because we think like this, we act like this. We support it sustainably. After all, it also promotes social competence and empathy among employees and thus fosters an understanding of responsible and helpful cooperation. This radiates to colleagues in the company and makes our internal cooperation more liveable and cordial. This radiance extends beyond the company and has a positive effect on our society. This is truly a win-win situation from which we all benefit in the end," Mr. Jahn explained our motives.
