SEW-EURODRIVE takes part in B2Run for the fourth time

The stifling heat from the previous days passed in time for the start of this year's B2Run in Karlsruhe. The 100 runners representing SEW-EURODRIVE were in high spirits as they lined up in pleasant temperatures of around 26 degrees Celsius in the city's palace gardens to wait for the start at 6:30 p.m. on July 4, 2019.

Run first, then party – a magnificent setting for the participants in the German company race championship

Visitors normally soak up the vista of green at this spot. At the eleventh B2Run, they’re met with a bustling array of different colors worn by the sporting enthusiasts representing some 460 companies. More than 9200 runners savored the final stretch into the impressive palace. Everyone got goosebumps then, at the latest – if they hadn't already during the preceding 5.3 kilometers or so of picturesque circuits through the palace gardens and woodland.

In the thick of it all – for the fourth time – were the red runners from SEW-EURODRIVE. Our "vital360°" Occupational Health Management team succeeded in motivating a total of 100 runners from a broad mix of departments to take part in the event. Besides experienced runners, novices and walkers were also welcome to join in. After all, as the "Get out of your work gear and into your sports shoes" slogan of the B2Run German company race championship implies, the main emphasis was on having fun and fueling team spirit. All the participants in this extraordinary sports event – whether hardcore runner or novice, manager or trainee – felt like a winner.

The results for the SEW-EURODRIVE teams are impressive. The best placings were right up high in the rankings:

  • Best SEW 5-person team, female – 27th out of 407 teams
  • Best SEW 5-person team, male – 7th out of 826 teams
  • Best SEW 5-person team, mixed – 14th out of 959 teams
  • Individual ranking: Best female starter / 65th out of 2857 runners
  • Individual ranking: Best male starter / 32nd out of 5017 runners

Congratulations to all our runners for their fantastic sporting achievements!

Taking part in the B2Run company run is one of many activities in our occupational health management program. SEW-EURODRIVE doesn't just get things moving with its product portfolio.

True to the "health wins every time" motto, importance is also attached to keeping employees fit and active. The focus is less on elite sport and more on healthy exercise. What counts is taking part and having fun, strengthening the sense of togetherness and creating incentives for each individual to develop a healthier lifestyle.

To achieve this, all employees have access to a comprehensive package of offerings. These range from a variety of health seminars, regular Vital activities, annual health days, "Sport at work" and partnerships with fitness studios to participation in events such as mini-soccer tournaments, the Hope Run and, of course, the B2Run company run.
