Bruchsal, Munich, Drinktec, 13.08.2025 • SEW EURODRIVE offers didactics modules to help train up-and-coming specialists in system automation. The "MOVIDRIVE® technology" represents the latest generation of frequency inverters from the MOVI C® modular automation system.
The "MOVIDRIVE® technology" module adds an application inverter of the latest generation to the SEW‑EURODRIVE didactics portfolio. It can be used to operate either three-phase asynchronous servomotors or synchronous servomotors.
In the "technology" didactics module, the 1.5 kW inverter module is connected to the 3-phase 400-V grid. In terms of accessories, an expansion card for digital and analog inputs/outputs and a USB interface adapter are delivered with the module, along with MOVISUITE® engineering software. Additionally, a fieldbus interface, prefabricated cables, and test lead sets are also available.
The didactics module makes it possible to conduct practical laboratory exercises such as using a keypad or engineering software to start up the drive inverter with three-phase asynchronous or synchronous servomotors. Other learning content includes the interplay between various motor and encoder types, optimizing speed and torque control loops, and activating protection and monitoring functions. Learning topics also include recording travel profiles and parameter comparison for diagnosing electrical values.
The drive inverter can be integrated into industrial networks via a communication interface such as PROFINET or EtherNet/IPTM (EtherNet/IP™ is a trademark of ODVA, Inc.). What's more, the MOVILINK® DDI digital data interface enables the direct transmission of drive information, including brake and diagnostic data and the electronic nameplate of the connected motor. This drive can therefore keep up with future requirements.
The didactics modules are based on SEW‑EURODRIVE industrial devices and have been modified for use in basic and further training. They are suitable for all practical training courses, for example in the fields of electronics and mechatronics.
