Bruchsal, Munich, Drinktec, 13.08.2025 • The demands on cutting-edge drive solutions in wet and dry areas may differ, but they have many characteristics in common. Drive technology must therefore meet these requirements, while also offering sufficient flexibility to make full use of its strengths in both types of area.

Efficient drive solutions for transport technology in the beverage sector

Control cabinet solutions are generally preferred in the wet section of the production line so as to protect sensitive inverter electronics in harsh, humid production areas. The dry section is where a decentralized installation concept with motor-integrated inverters comes into its own, since the costs and other outlay for customized planning and star-type installations outside the control cabinet can be reduced significantly.

It is also possible to enjoy the benefits of both types of system in a single technical solution, as SEW‑EURODRIVE drive technology can be used to implement a system with one end-to-end inverter platform for centralized and decentralized installation. System concepts can then be combined flexibly in line with customer requirements and build conditions.

For the wet section, the MOVITRAC® advanced control cabinet inverter with integrated safety technology, flexible fieldbus connection, and scalable power range meets all the requirements for a compact frequency inverter for materials handling technology. The MOVIGEAR® classic drive unit and DR2C.. synchronous motor achieve motor energy efficiency class IE5, and, in combination with the MOVITRAC® advanced inverter, form an energy-optimized solution with minimal startup outlay.

For the dry section, the MOVIMOT® and MOVIGEAR® ranges offer a variety of IE5 solutions in degree of protection IP54/65. These can be designed either with a motor-integrated inverter or for the inverter to be installed close to the motor in the field. Installing the drive units in a decentralized arrangement makes it possible to implement consistent modularity and standardization in the transport systems. Depending on on-site circumstances, conveying elements can therefore be combined as standardized and autonomous modules with uniform interfaces, thereby achieving a flexible system layout.

At drinktec, SEW‑EURODRIVE is using a turning section with transport technology to demonstrate a system solution from a single source (Hall C4, Stand 460).
