Bruchsal, 02.04.2025 • Drive and automation specialist SEW-EURODRIVE will collaborate with software company Eplan in the future. This will enable customers to benefit from seamless integration of engineering data and optimized workflows for efficient project handling.

Based in Monheim am Rhein, Germany, Eplan GmbH & Co. KG specializes in CAE software and services for optimizing product engineering processes. The company has developed one of the world's leading software solutions for mechanical, plant, and control cabinet engineering.

The cooperation between the two companies therefore combines the drive and automation solutions from SEW-EURODRIVE with the engineering tools of its new partner. "By integrating the SEW DriveConfigurator into the Eplan Data Portal, our customers are in a position to configure the full range of our modular automation system in a familiar environment, use it to generate the article dataset, and then conveniently integrate it into Eplan," says Jens Grub, project engineer for retrofitting/control cabinets at SEW-EURODRIVE, explaining the added value of the collaboration.

Planners and engineers benefit from improved efficiency, faster implementation, and end-to-end digitalization in their automation projects. Linking the SEW-EURODRIVE product data with the high-performance engineering solutions from Eplan enables end-to-end data consistency and reduces the scope for errors. This leads to considerable time savings and increases planning reliability. "The partnership between SEW-EURODRIVE and Eplan represents a new level of digital integration for automation technology, on the path toward software-defined factories," says Tobias Nittel, head of Corporate Solution Center/Electronics at SEW-EURODRIVE.
