The filling station built by SEW-EURODRIVE for the trade fair stand includes a gantry equipped with stainless steel motors, an autonomous logistics assistant made of stainless steel and the MOVITRANS® spot contactless energy supply. The process shown in the model begins with the cleanroom AGV, which is loaded with a horizontal barrel. This AGV starts from its starting position and then moves into the filling portal.

“The filling process itself is simulated at the trade fair using pulsating light tubes,” explains Marko Boruszewski, solution engineer at SEW-EURODRIVE, adding: ”So while the barrel is being virtually filled with maple syrup, visitors can watch in parallel as the AGV is charged contactlessly via a MOVITRANS® spot energy supply charging plate embedded in the floor.” Once the filling process is complete, the cleanroom AGV with the “filled” barrel returns to its starting position and the process can begin again.

Cleanroom AGV in stainless steel housing

The AGV from the MAXOLUTION® modular technology system is specially designed for cleanroom applications in accordance with ISO 5 requirements and is equipped with an application-specific load handling device with which a drum can be transported horizontally. The AGV itself has a stainless steel housing. This is corrosion-resistant in accordance with the hygienic design rules and cleanroom requirements and can be cleaned quickly and easily. The vehicle is also equipped with special low-abrasion wheels to achieve a high level of dust prevention. In addition, the cleanroom AGV is equipped with an interoperable VDA 5050 communication interface. This allows the vehicle to be integrated into the MAXOLUTION® connected fleetmanager control system as well as into control systems from other manufacturers.

Stainless steel motors with protection class IP69K

The stainless steel motors integrated in the portal offer the highest level of protection against dirt and moisture with protection class IP69k. The motor housings are designed without corners and edges and can be quickly cleaned with high pressure, which significantly reduces downtimes in a customer application.

Fleet manager digitally controls and monitors driverless transport systems

In the digital control center at the trade fair stand, visitors can find out about the typical use of a fleet manager for driverless transport and assistance systems. The solution on display there is based on the MAXOLUTION® connected fleetmanager control system and was developed by SEW-EURODRIVE specifically for processes in the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries. By clicking on one of the vehicles in the user interface, the user receives a wide range of information, e.g. the battery charge status, the customer order number, how many operating hours the AGV has already completed, which position the AGV is currently in and also which faults have already occurred and when and how they were handled. If there is a current fault, this is displayed and the customer receives a suggestion on how to respond to this fault.

DriveRadar® IoT Suite ensures transparency for stainless steel motors

For stainless steel motors, the digital focus is on the DriveRadar® IoT Suite web application for applications. In the control center at the trade fair stand, the typical Device Identity and Device Vitality functions can be used to see at a glance how long the motor has been running, whether and what anomalies exist, or whether a device has already been replaced and this has been replaced by a newer version of the component.
