Bruchsal/Hanover 2025, 29.03.2025 • SEW-EURODRIVE presents at HANNOVER MESSE 2025 compact and powerful solutions for automation packages from the controller controllers through to the energy storage system with supercapacitors. They are used in the mobile portal and shuttle applications of the drive and automa automation specialist. All technology levels can be operated in this way including suitable, specially developed software.
Using the example of the palletizing portal with shuttle and the application specifically for battery production, SEW-EURODRIVE will demonstrate at its trade fair booth in Hanover that it offers complete automation from a single source with proven hardware and adaptable solutions. SEW-EURODRIVE has combined its innovative automation solutions StarterSET End-of-Line and End-of-Line Robotics with the pre-assembled three-axis gantry mechanics packages from Rollon GmbH to simplify the construction of gantry robots.
Customers benefit from several advantages. Rapid implementation, for example, because the complete package enables rapid and resource-saving automation. All components – from software to precision planetary gear units – are optimally matched to each other and to the mechanical portal solutions from Rollon and harmonize perfectly with each other. Cost-effectiveness also plays a major role in this: The sets offer an efficient solution, especially for automation tasks with high throughput and large masses. The resulting complete package of SEW-EURODRIVE and Rollon significantly simplifies the work of customers and enables rapid and resource-efficient implementation of automation projects. "The collaboration between two strong partners, such as Rollon and SEW-EURODRIVE, maximizes the benefits for our customers. This creates a synergy that is visible both in efficiency and resource savings as well as in consulting expertise,” says Heiko Weissgerber, manager for strategic portfolio planning at the Bruchsal family-owned company.
Users also benefit from many technical features of the shuttle application. This is because compact and powerful components for mobile applications enable a very compact shuttle vehicle. The integrated, rail-mounted and wireless pallet shuttle with WLAN connection and 48 V supercapacitors makes it possible to make optimum use of the available storage volume. In particular, the supercapacitors used shine with fast charging times, long service life and the recuperation of regenerative energies.
Klaus Just, Group manager system engineering for mobile systems, emphasizes the many advantages of the SCM decentralized controllers used in the pallet shuttle: “Thanks to their compact design and the integration of numerous functions and interfaces, the dual-axis servo controllers for safety extra-low voltages up to DC 60 V offer unprecedented flexibility. In conjunction with extremely high control performance and power, customers can use them to implement optimum automation and drive solutions.”
