Bruchsal/Hanover 2025, 29.03.2025 • SEW-EURODRIVE is an employer for around 22,000 people worldwide – and the trend is rising. Contrary to the trend and the increasing reports of redundancies and site closures, the family-owned company continues to focus on growth in Germany and is looking for skilled workers. Special attention will also be paid to young talent in the future – with the opening of a new training center in Graben-Neudorf.
Around 7,000 people work for SEW-EURODRIVE at more than 30 locations in Germany, including around 800 employees in research and development. Many of them, like the current 350 trainees and dual students, started their careers with the drive and automation specialist. And many of them have been loyal to the company for decades, like the more than 120 employees that SEW-EURODRIVE honored last fall at its traditional anniversary celebration for 25, 40 or 50 years of service.
A construction project that will be completed this fall takes into account both the importance of promoting young talent and the company's regional roots. A new training center is being built on around 9300 square meters at the Graben-Neudorf production site, ten kilometers from the company headquarters in Bruchsal. The drive and automation specialist has invested 32 million euros in the project. From September 2025, 250 young people will be introduced to one of a total of ten training professions here.
“The new training center offers sufficient space to meet future requirements”, emphasizes Markus Süss, Head of Technical Training at SEW-EURODRIVE. He is convinced of the project's appeal: “This is unique in the region and can also compete with the offers of large companies nationwide.” SEW-EURODRIVE is also guiding over 100 dual students in nine fields of study towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree. “The new training center also offers students a lot of freedom and modern equipment to gain practical experience in interdisciplinary projects on innovative future topics”, emphasizes Klaus-Peter Schillo, who is responsible for dual studies, IT and commercial training at SEW-EURODRIVE.
The company is not only opening its doors in the new training center to its employees and its own junior staff, but also wants to get children and young people interested in technology and STEM professions through hands-on activities. This should also strengthen the Bruchsal region in the long term.
