Built-in encoder fully integrated into the motor
Many applications require but simple speed and position detection. Previously, elaborate and cost-intensive external encoders were mounted to the motor or initiators were used for complex sensing to fulfill these requirements.

Four types of HTL built-in encoders are available each with A+B tracks plus negation:

  • 24 periods / revolution
  • 6 periods / revolution
  • 2 periods / revolution
  • 1 period / revolution

The new and cost-optimized solution from SEW-EURODRIVE is a built-in encoder.
The encoder is fully integrated in the motor. Instead of an external encoder mounted to the fan guard of the non-drive end, the built-in encoder is now installed between the endshield and the fan. It is connected in the customer terminal box via terminal strip or in the motor terminal box via 4- or 8-pole M12 plug connector. Due to its low degree of complexity, the built-in encoder can be retrofitted.
